Suggested lyrics for the new Band Aid turned Apartheid Aid CD.  Anyone want to make our own youtube video to counter theirs?

It’s Birthdaytime
There’s probably lots of reasons to be afraid
At Birthdaytime, we let in Jews and Palestinians we degrade
And in our world of plenty we can spread an apartheid wall
Grab your arms all around Israel at Birthdaytime

But say a prayer

But not for the ‘other ones’
At Birthdaytime it’s hard, but when you’re having fun
There’s a world outside your window [its called Palestine]
And it’s a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears
And the Birthday bells that ring there are the clanging
Al-Nakba chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it’s them instead of you

And there might be ‘summer rain’ in Gaza this Birthdaytime
The greatest gift they’ll get this year is life
(Oooh) Where only Israeli settlements ever grows
No rain nor rivers flow [cause Israel’s draining all the water]
Do they know it’s Birthdaytime at all?

(Here’s to you) raise a glass for everyone
(Here’s to them) let them die underneath an F16s burning bomb
Do they know it’s Birthdaytime at all?

Fuck the world
Fuck the world

Fuck the world

Let them know we’ll never accept a UN resolution again

Let us fight the apartheid. Let us unite and empower our comunity. We Will never forget. Let the world know that the Palestinians are the Key holders of Peace. For all pro Palestinians, enough talk. Let your ACTIONS be louder than your words. Be pro active. Let us come together to assert the Palestinian’s legal right to FREEDOM and Self Determination. Here how you can get involved:

I think the lyrics are brilliant: they encapsulate all the injustice, oppression and humiliation visited upon the Palestinians, and by extension other people under occupation, such as Iraqis or Afghanistanis. And, of course, the crass hypocrisy and despicable politics that goes and enables it. They should be put to music by people of talent, similarly to protest songs of yesterday, on a CD or5 DVD. What a good way to enliven a rally or protest!
